About Penny & Pearl

Penny & Pearl was created from a deeply personal understanding of what happens when a lifetime of belongings is left behind—and what it takes to support people through life’s most emotional transitions.

Both of my parents were raised by families who lived through the Great Depression—an era that shaped how people valued and held onto possessions. For many from that generation, throwing things away felt unthinkable. Items were saved “just in case,” because there was a time when replacing them simply wasn’t possible. Over the years, those habits of preservation often turned into vast collections of belongings—objects filled with memories, history, and sometimes overwhelming volume.

Today, many families are faced with the reality of managing those belongings after a loved one passes. Younger generations often live very differently than their parents or grandparents did. We exist in a world of abundance and convenience, where nearly anything we need can be obtained within days. Because of this shift, many people find themselves emotionally and logistically unprepared to sort through decades of accumulated possessions.

I created Penny & Pearl to help bridge that gap.

Penny & Pearl exists to support families who are navigating one of the most difficult periods of their lives —the loss of someone they love —while also being faced with the daunting responsibility of managing an estate full of belongings. In moments like these, families deserve time to grieve, connect with one another, and heal. They should not have to carry the additional burden of figuring out what to do with an overwhelming amount of “stuff.”

Through compassionate estate sale planning and estate liquidation services, Penny & Pearl helps ease that burden through thoughtful organization, responsible liquidation, and trusted connections within the resale and estate-sale community. Every item represents part of someone’s life, and the process of sorting, valuing, and redistributing those items should reflect that understanding.

However, Penny & Pearl was also built around another important truth: life does not only bring endings—it also brings celebrations, milestones, and meaningful moments that deserve to be honored.

That is why Penny & Pearl also includes an event planning and event rental branch. While the estate sale side of the business helps families through transitions of loss, the event side exists to support families and individuals through moments of joy—weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and gatherings that deserve to feel special and well-executed. Many people want to celebrate the people they love, but don’t have the time, experience, or resources to coordinate the details. Penny & Pearl provides support through curated rentals, event enhancements, and planning services designed to reduce stress and create memorable experiences.

Though these services may appear different on the surface, they are rooted in the same purpose: helping people navigate life’s biggest moments with care, professionalism, and peace of mind.

At its core, Penny & Pearl is about more than managing belongings or setting up events. It is about serving people during seasons that matter. It is about reducing stress, creating order where there is overwhelm, and bringing value—whether through responsible liquidation of an estate or through helping a client host a beautiful and meaningful celebration.

Penny & Pearl exists to help people move forward—with care, dignity, and support.
